Rhetorical tanka - 3.13 #sol18 Story Challenge

"You should run your life not by the calendar, but by how you feel." -John Glenn

Why has this meeting
popped up on my calendar,
its cryptic topic
vexing me with vague questions,
creeping sense I'm unprepared?

  1. Writing about this must have been a touch of inspiration, questioning, and what's next...Nice work, Brian.

    1. Writing, in short and long forms, certainly is good for reflection.

  3. Been there.
    At that meeting.
    Because of my calendar.
    Where were you?

    1. Turns out meeting invitations are blessing and curse, leading to you treating me to sampling of your verse.

  4. Fun & out of this world! Cicking on John Glenn's name in your quote reveals a great back story read. !sknahT

  5. My calendar has taken to self selecting what it offers up on my mobile device. A conspiracy?

  6. Oh that calendar. So silent, yet so judgmental.

  7. Calendars, meetings, greetings,
    Am I bound by them?
    Hampered by them?
Why don't I ditch them & walk away?

    Nah!

I can but then how I will show the timelines to my kids,
The progression from a single cell to nano beings?
Who will guide them in intricacies
of Lanny being shot and Gatsby floating?

I will keep the calendar now
and let them have me marching.
Go ahead, think YOU rule me,
but I walk on MY own drumbeat.
